Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of Serenio.

Welcome to Serenio. Serenio is a mental-health application service provided by Serenio AI Limited (Hong Kong company number 3299059). Before using the Serenio service, please read the following terms and conditions carefully.

1. About these terms

These terms are a legal agreement between you and Serenio ("Serenio", "we", "us" or "our") governing your use of the Serenio service. You must agree to these terms to use the Serenio service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Serenio service.

2. How we modify these terms

We may modify these terms from time to time. If we do, we will post the modified terms on the Serenio service and show "Last updated" and the date. Your continued use of the Serenio service indicates your acceptance of the modified terms. If you do not agree, your only option is to stop using the Serenio service.

3. Eligibility

The Serenio service is not for persons under 18 years of age. By using the Serenio service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. If you are under 18, do not use the Serenio service.

4. Use of the Serenio service

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Serenio service solely for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to use the Serenio service for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose, and to comply with all applicable laws. You agree that you will not:

  • violate or circumvent (or attempt to) any security measures we put in place to protect the Serenio service;
  • use the Serenio service for commercial purposes without our prior express written consent;
  • use the Serenio service to infringe others' intellectual property, privacy or other lawful rights;
  • use the Serenio service to distribute viruses, trojans, worms, bombs, corrupted data or other destructive files;
  • attempt to crack, reverse engineer, disassemble or otherwise obtain the source code of the Serenio service;
  • engage in conduct that may cause us legal liability, harm our brand or goodwill, or cause us to lose other users or partners.

5. Disclaimer

Serenio is a mental-health support tool intended to help users improve their mental health. However, Serenio cannot replace professional psychotherapy or medical services. Serenio is not a medical provider and does not provide medical advice. Before using the Serenio service, you should consult your physician or another qualified medical professional.

6. Limitations and disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Serenio and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, licensors and other representatives shall not be liable to you for any damages, including but not limited to any indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages, even if Serenio has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

7. Intellectual property

The Serenio service includes intellectual property owned by Serenio and its licensors. In using the Serenio service, you do not acquire any intellectual property or other proprietary rights.

8. Data protection and privacy

When using the Serenio service, you may provide us with certain personal information. We will handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available in the Serenio app or on our website.

9. Termination

Serenio may terminate or suspend your use of the Serenio service at any time. In that case, you may be unable to access the service, and Serenio is not liable for any loss you suffer as a result. After termination or suspension, all provisions of these terms continue to apply.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms of use and your relationship with Serenio are governed by the laws of Hong Kong. To resolve any dispute relating to the Serenio service, you shall submit to the courts of competent jurisdiction in Hong Kong.

11. Modifications

Serenio may modify these terms of use from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Serenio app or our website. Your continued use of the Serenio service indicates your acceptance of the modified terms.

12. Other terms

If any part of these terms is deemed invalid or unenforceable, that part shall be severable and shall not affect the validity of the remaining parts. These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Serenio and supersede any prior agreements relating to the Serenio service. Your use of the Serenio service shall not be construed as creating any agency, joint venture, employee/employer or other similar relationship between Serenio and you.
